Matte or Shine: What's the Difference?

Shine reads as product; matte reads as hair. A high-shine pomade gives you a slick, deliberate look — the classic barbershop finish, combed and polished. A matte formula does the opposite: it absorbs light instead of reflecting it, which makes hair look denser and the style look like it happened by itself.

Neither is better. It depends on the cut, the occasion, and how much you want people to notice the work.
